Hi! I’m
John Dee, CPA, CGMA
I am the Chief Executive Officer at Bostrom
Leader | Problem Solver | Coach
I joined Bostrom in 1992 and have nearly 30 years of experience working with both 501(c) 3 and 501(c) 6 groups as well as for-profit organizations. My experience spans various industries including education, finance, healthcare, manufacturing, marketing, publishing, and technology.
I train volunteer treasurers and other individuals in leadership on the intricacies of not-for-profit accounting and their fiduciary role within their organizations. My efforts in financial analysis and budgeting have aided numerous organizations to become more structured and build a solid financial foundation to enable the organizations to carry out their missions. I also serve as the primary client relationship manager for several clients, ensuring client satisfaction and long-term engagements.
I am a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Illinois CPA Society, the American Society of Association Executives, and the AMC Institute for which I served as chair of its board of directors. I have presented to numerous organizations and routinely counsel organizations on the benefits of outsourcing.
My Background
I am a proud graduate of the University of Iowa where I graduated with honors while earning a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting. The State of Illinois recognized me as a Certified Public Accountant in 1993 and I have been a Chartered Global Management Accountant since 2012.
